At Modern Gift Co we take great pride in curating and delivering beautiful gift boxes that bring joy to every recipient. We understand that sometimes things don't go as planned and we are committed to working with you to find the best possible solution. Please read our Returns and Refunds Policy carefully before placing your order. If you have any questions please contact us at contact@moderngiftco.com.au.

1. Change of Mind We are unable to accept returns or provide refunds for change of mind once your box has been created and shipped. Each Modern Gift Co gift box is thoughtfully curated and assembled specifically for your order. Because of the personalised and perishable nature of our products we are unable to resell returned items. We encourage you to review your order carefully before completing your purchase. If you are unsure about anything please do not hesitate to contact us at contact@moderngiftco.com.au before placing your order and we will be happy to help you find the perfect box.

2. Damaged Orders We pack every single box with the utmost care and attention to detail. However we understand that on rare occasions items may be damaged during transit. If your order arrives damaged please contact us at contact@moderngiftco.com.au within 24 hours of receiving your box. Please include your order number and clear photographs of the damaged items and packaging. Failure to notify us within 24 hours of delivery may affect your eligibility for a replacement or refund. Once we receive your photos and assess the damage we will determine whether a replacement, partial refund or store credit is the most appropriate remedy. Please note that refunds and replacements apply to the damaged items only and not the entire box unless the majority of the box contents have been damaged.

3. Incorrect Orders If you receive an incorrect order please contact us immediately at contact@moderngiftco.com.au with your order number and a photo of what you received. We will rectify the situation as quickly as possible at no additional cost to you.

4. Conditions for Returns In order for goods to be eligible for a return please ensure the following conditions are met. The goods must have been purchased within the last 30 days and must be in their original unopened packaging in the same condition in which they were received. Returns that do not meet these conditions will not be accepted.

The following goods cannot be returned under any circumstances. Goods that were made to your specifications or that have been clearly personalised including boxes with custom messages or custom product selections. Goods which by their nature are not suitable to be returned including items that deteriorate rapidly or where the expiry date has passed. Goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and which have been unsealed after delivery including skincare, bath and body products. Goods which after delivery have been inseparably mixed with other items and can no longer be separated in their original condition. We reserve the right to refuse returns of any merchandise that does not meet the above return conditions entirely at our sole discretion. Our decision regarding the eligibility of a return is final.

5. Returning Goods If your return has been approved you are responsible for the cost and risk of returning the goods to us. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and retaining proof of postage as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit. We are unable to issue a refund or replacement for returned items that do not arrive back to us in satisfactory condition. Return shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is the result of our error or a faulty product. Please do not send your return without first contacting us at contact@moderngiftco.com.au and receiving written confirmation that your return has been approved.

6. Refunds If your return or refund request is approved we will process your refund promptly back to your original payment method. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to appear in your account depending on your financial institution. You will receive a confirmation email from us once your refund has been processed. Please note that original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a faulty or damaged product. We reserve the right to issue store credit in lieu of a refund where appropriate.

7. Late or Missing Refunds If you have not received your refund within 5 business days of receiving our confirmation email please first check your bank account and contact your financial institution as processing times may vary. If you have done this and still have not received your refund please contact us at contact@moderngiftco.com.au and we will investigate the matter on your behalf.

8. Sale and Promotional Items Items purchased during a sale or promotional period are subject to the same returns and refunds policy as full priced items. Promotional discounts cannot be applied retrospectively to orders that have already been placed.

9. Australian Consumer Law Nothing in this Returns and Refunds Policy limits or excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a product is faulty, not of acceptable quality, not fit for its intended purpose or not as described you are entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law regardless of our change of mind policy. This may include a repair, replacement or refund depending on the nature of the fault. For major failures you are entitled to choose your preferred remedy. For further information about your rights under Australian Consumer Law please visit the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website at accc.gov.au.
